Thoughts from a student who completed the Lafayette School Program and transitioned back into their home school:

March 2014

"Dear Everyone,

First of all, I want to thank you all.  You stood by me through my roughest times and supported me during my good.  You filled my days with laughter, friendship, and fun.  The days were never boring.  I will forever be grateful for that.

Some of you were here before me and some after I came.  That doesn’t matter to me.  I will miss each and every one of you.  You all left an impact on my life in some way.  I will be different in a good way, because I met all of you.

I came here, freshly out of residential treatment looking for a place to continue with my care.  This place did exactly that.  I am better in every way (even though I have much improvement to go) because of Lafayette staff and students both are what make this place so special to me.  I will never forget the fun time that I spent here but also the hard that made me stronger.

I know I didn’t get to know all of you very well, but that is okay.  All of you left an impression on me from the moment I met you.

This letter is probably sappy, but that is how I truly feel.  Thank you all for everything.  I will miss you and think of you often."  A, 17
