Therapeutic
Horseback Riding at Montanova Stables

Lafayette
School thanks the Outreach Committee of Grace Episcopal Church for their
continued support of The Lafayette School Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program.
The Church Outreach Committee has awarded funds to Lafayette School
for our continued work in  providing therapeutic horse back riding
for our students.
Lafayette is excited to partner with Montanova Stables Foundation to provide Therapeutic Horseback Riding to our students.  Lafayette participates in 3 six week sessions throughout the year where are students learn horseback riding, barn management and proper horse care.  The learning process is ongoing and builds a strong work ethic. The students gain a valuable sense of accomplishment and increase self-confidence as they master these skills in the barn and on horseback. Each student is taught in a safe and supportive environment. They receive one-on-one mentoring from older mentors who are trained and supervised by Jennifer Jones, a professional riding instructor. These experiences create a bond of trust between the student, the horse, and their mentor. MISSION
STATEMENT

Montanova Stables Foundation partners with local schools and family support staff to identify children who can benefit from our horsemanship and mentoring program. Our students develop valuable life skills such as patience, trust, responsibility and self-confidence.
